Going Under: Over One Million Lose Unemployment Benefits – Will Hit Five Million By End of 2014

Mac Slavo
December 30, 2013

Earlier this year government benefits for nutritional assistance were reduced after the expiration of emergency legislation that was enacted following the 2008 financial collapse.
Image: US Dollars (Wikimedia Commons).
Nearly all of the 48 million people receiving food stamp distributions were affected. The move led to warnings from food pantries and recipients around the country who said that the $40 billion in cuts would leave many American families without the ability to put food on dinner tables across America. According to Feed America, the roughly $29 per family that would no longer appear on their EBT cards will amount to about 1.5 billion meals in 2014.
But that was just the beginning.
Because the government now claims that we are in a period of economic growth we will see more cuts to emergency assistance over the course of the next year.
And it starts today.
As of midnight Saturday some 1.3 million Americans who lost their jobs in the last two years and were left with no choice but to collect unemployment benefits due to the worst jobs market since the Great Depression have now seen their benefits expire.
Long-term unemployment benefits for 1.3 million Americans expired Saturday after Congress failed to pass an extension. Reinstating those benefits is expected to be one of the first priorities for congressional Democrats in the new year.
“Extending unemployment insurance is the right thing to do for millions of Americans who are trying to support their families,” Democratic National Committee chairwoman and Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said in a statement Saturday. “What makes matters worse, the loss of benefits comes just a few days after the holidays.”
CNN

This morning, the President placed separate telephone calls to Senator Jack Reed and Senator Dean Heller to offer his support for their proposal to extend emergency unemployment benefits for three months,” White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement.
“The President said his administration would, as it has for several weeks now, push Congress to act promptly and in bipartisan fashion to address thisurgent economic priority.”
Obama says the abrupt cut-off in cash assistance during the holidays will hurt economic growth and jobs.
Fox News
Here’s the kicker. By the end of 2014 the number of Americans who will lose access to long-term unemployment benefits will be five times higher:
By July, another 1.9 million people will get the boot from extended benefits. By the end of 2014, 1.6 million more will be kicked off, totaling about 5 million Americans.
Bloomberg
Five millions Americans will be losing access to what essentially amounts to their paycheck. And we’re not talking about a $29 cut to food stamps. We’re talking about a mortgage payment, a healthcare payment, and funds to pay for essential utilities.
All of it will be vaporized by the end of the year. This will affect not just those five million people, but their dependents as well, which amounts to at least an additional 5 – 10 million people.
Congress and the President propose to extend these benefits for another three months, and most would suggest that this will avert the emergency.
That notion is laughable.
What happens after we kick the can down the road for another three months? Will President Obama somehow magically create 1.3 million shovel-ready jobs?
The problem is that there are no meaningful jobs available. So you can extend these benefits for six months, or even two more years, and we’ll be right back where we started once they expire – perhaps even worse off as prices for everything from food to utilities to health care rise unabated.
When a DHS Insider warned recently of a crisis of unprecedented magnitude within the United States he noted that we are in the midst of a long-term economic collapse.
Given what is transpiring around us, can anyone honestly say that our economy is actually recovering?
President Obama claims that failing to extend the unemployment benefits for these 1.3 million people will hurt economic growth and jobs. He has just broadcast the severity of the situation we face.
It should be clear that without government intervention and backroom machinationsthe entire system will come unglued. Stocks would crash, millions would be starving in the streets, and the violence that the Department of Homeland Security and US military have been preparing for would take hold across the streets of America.
That may sound sensational, but consider that just one week ahead of the cut to food stamp benefits of $29 per family the Department of Homeland Security spent $80 million to beef up security in New York City with the expectation that those who lost their benefits would start rioting. They know that we are rapidly approaching a breaking point, otherwise why would they be preparing for it?
The government has no choice but to keep pumping out money and emergency assistance, whether that be to people who have lost their jobs or the banks that provide the lending. The second (literally) that they pull back on the monetary, financial and economic intervention we will see a catastrophe that few can imagine.
It’s coming.
If you’re paying attention you can’t go a day without seeing the signs.
The only question is: Are you prepared for when it happens?

Volgograd Bombings Follow Saudi Threat to Attack Russia

Paul Joseph Watson
December 30, 2013

Twin blasts targeting a train station and a trolley bus in the city of Volgograd which killed at least 31 people follow a threat by Saudi Arabia to attack Russia using Chechen terrorists if Moscow did not withdraw its support for President Assad in Syria.
The first attack took place at Volgograd-1 station on Sunday morning, killing 17 people. CCTV footage shows an orange blast behind the main doors of the station, smashing windows and sending debris out into the street. The prime suspect is a female suicide bomber.
The second attack occurred near a busy market in Volgograd’s Dzerzhinsky district. A bus packed with people on their morning commute was ripped apart by a suicide bomber, killing 14.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the blasts, suspicion immediately fell on Islamists from the North Caucasus region who routinely attack soft targets in Russia.
While the media has concentrated on the threat such groups pose to February’s Winter Olympics in Sochi, no scrutiny has been given to a warning issued by Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan back in August when he told Vladimir Putin that Saudi Arabia would activate the Chechen terrorist groups it controls to target Russia if Moscow refused to abandon its support for Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
As we reported at the time, the threat was made during a closed-door meeting between Prince Bandar and Putin at the beginning of August.
According to a transcript of the comments made during the meeting by Middle Eastern news agency Al Monitor, Bandar made a series of promises and threats to Putin in return for Moscow withdrawing its support for Assad in Syria.
“I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics next year,” Bandar allegedly stated, adding, “The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us.”
Bandar made it clear that his position was supported by the US government.
This “guarantee” to stop the Chechens from attacking the Sochi Olympics was also obviously a veiled threat that if Russia did not abandon Assad, terrorist attacks would be given the green light.
Given that Russia did not abandon Assad and indeed virtually single-handedly prevented a US military strike on Syria, much to the chagrin of Saudi Arabia which is the primary supplier of anti-Assad rebel jihadists, are we to believe that the Volgograd bombings are evidence of Bandar following through on his threat?

NSA Ruling: Judge’s Decision Counter-Punches Constitution

David Knight
December 28, 2013

The startling thing about Judge Pauley’s opinion is that it reads like an NSA press release or a Tom Clancy script. It begins:

“The September 11th terrorist attacks revealed, in the starkest terms, just how dangerous and interconnected the world is. While Americans depended on technology for the conveniences of modernity, al-Qaeda plotted in a seventh-century milieu to use that technology against us. It was a bold jujitsu…The bulk telephony metadata collection program represents the Government’s counter-punch…”
Leaving aside the absurdity that cave-dwelling terrorists operating in a “seventh-century milieu” were able to pull off a highly coordinated and sophisticated attack — even if the government’s narrative could pass the sniff test – it is not a legal argument.
Judge Pauley’s role is to decide whether or not the government’s actions are legal. Whether they are effective or not, it is the role of various federal organizations to protect the country (which is not necessarily the same as protecting the government). Those organizations will come up with strategies, tactics and policies to protect the country. The judicial system’s role is to ensure that those strategies, tactics and policies don’t violate the law or violate the rights of the people — the purpose for which the government was created.
Yesterday I interviewed NSA whistleblower William Binney who as Technical Director of the World Geopolitical and Military Analysis Reporting Group was the person who really WAS tasked with judging the efficacy of the surveillance programs. He became a whistleblower because the NSA was clearly violating both the Constitution and their statutory mandate to keep the surveillance foreign. He also pointed out how ineffective the program was.
But what really troubles Binney is how the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was and is being used for domestic law enforcement. Data collected under the rationale of protecting the American public from foreign terrorists is being used by domestic law enforcement to prosecute individuals for crimes that have nothing to do with terrorism or national security.
Judge Pauley is aware of the distinction between foreign surveillance and criminal surveillance as he says in his opinion:
“In 1972, the Supreme Court recognized that ‘criminal surveillances and those involving domestic security’ are distinct…”
But Judge Pauley ignores the distinction he points out and he ignores the abuses. He lays out an historical narrative that pretends there is pragmatic justification and appeals to statutory law like the FISA.
But statutory law doesn’t trump the Constitution. It is subordinate to the Constitution. Judge Leon who ruled two weeks ago in Klayman v. Obama that the NSA actions are unconstitutional also looked at statutory law but said this:
“Where, as here, core individual constitutional rights are implicated by Government action, Congress should not be able to cut off a citizen’s right to judicial review of that Government action simply because it intended for the conduct to remain secret by operation of the design of its statutory scheme. While Congress has great latitude to create statutory schemes like FISA, it may not hang a cloak of secrecy over the Constitution.”
Neither should judicial review be allowed to cut off citizens’ rights explicitly recognized in the Constitution or cover violations of statutory law with a “cloak of secrecy.” But that is what Pauley and others claim a 1979 Supreme Court decision, Smith v. Maryland, allows them to do. Interestingly, this case was a domestic criminal case and as Pauley pointed out, criminal cases are distinct from domestic security. But he ignores the distinction when it suits his purpose.
In one flawed decision (Smith), the government maintains that it gave itself the right to collect any and all information about you from a third party that they could bribe, cajole or blackmail. This decision is the basis of turning America not just into a surveillance police state but a society of government informants and snitches. Corporations become the willing informants and government becomes the muscle as America sinks into a technological despotism far worse than anything the Stasi could imagine.
And it gets even worse. As William Binney pointed out, the NSA plays semantic games about even what constitutes “collection.” If the NSA captures and stores information and even turns that information on over to the FBI, DEA, or DHS, it is not considered “collected” unless and until an NSA employee looks at it. The government lies to our faces.
That’s what is so infuriating and perverse about the actions of our government and the judges that cover up their crimes with a cloak of secrecy and a phony appeal to security.

100 Years Ago: Why Bankers Created the Fed

Christopher WestleyDecember 26, 2013

The Democratic Party gained prominence in the first half of the nineteenth century as being the party that opposed the Second Bank of the United States. In the process, it tapped into an anti-state sentiment that proved so strong that we wouldn’t see another like it until the next century.
Its adversaries were Whig politicians who defended the bank and its ability to grow the government and their own personal fortunes at the same time. They were, in fact, quite open about these arrangements. It was considered standard-operating procedure for Whig representatives to receive monetary compensation for their support of the Bank when leaving Congress. The Whig Daniel Webster even expected annual payments while in Congress. Once he complained to the Bank of the United States President Nicholas Biddle, “I believe my retainer has not been renewed or refreshed as usual. If it be wished that my relation to the Bank should be continued, it may be well to send me my usual retainer.”
No wonder these people were often pummeled with canes on the House floor.
It is little wonder that early Democrats garnered such popular support and would demand Andrew Jackson end America’s experiment with central banking. Jackson called it “dangerous to the liberty of the American people because it represented a fantastic centralization of economic and political power under private control.”
It’s hard to believe that guy who said that is now on the $20 bill.
Jackson also warned that the Bank of the United States was “a vast electioneering engine” that could “control the Government and change its character.” These sentiments were echoed by Roger Taney, Jackson’s Treasury Secretary, who talked of the Bank’s “corrupting influence” and ability to “influence elections.” (The Whigs would later get revenge on this future chief justice when Abraham Lincoln, in response to a written opinion with which he disagreed, issued his arrest warrant.)
But the courtship between the political classes and their cronies would continue in the decades following Lincoln’s assassination. Those politically well-connected groups that benefited from early central banking continued to benefit from government finance, especially off of “internal improvements,” which is the nineteenth-century term for pork. National banking would appear during the War Between the States, setting in place a banking system in which individual banks would be chartered by the federal government. The government itself would use regulations backed by a new armed U.S. Treasury police force to encourage the banks’ inflation and protect them from the market penalties that inflation would otherwise bring them, such as the loss of specie and the occurrence of bank runs.
The boom and bust cycle, explained by the Austrian School in such detail, became worse and worse in the period leading up to 1913. And with the rise of Progressive Era spending on war and welfare, and with the pressure on banks to inflate to finance this activity, the boom and bust cycles worsened even more. If there was one saving grace about this period it would be that banks were forced to internalize their losses. When banks faced runs on their currencies, private financiers would bail them out. But this arrangement didn’t last, so when the losses grew, those financiers would secretly organize to reintroduce central banking to America, thus engineering an urgent need for a new “lender of last resort.” The result was the Federal Reserve.
This was the implicit socialization of the banking industry in the United States. People called the Federal Reserve Act the Currency Bill, because it was to create a bureaucracy that would assume the currency-creating duties of member banks.
It was like the Patriot Act, in that both were centralizing bills that were written years in advance by people who were waiting for the appropriate political environment in which to introduce them. It was like our current health care bills, in which cartelized firms in private industry wrote chunks of the legislation behind closed doors long before they were introduced in Congress.
It was unnecessary. If banks were simply held to similar standards as other more efficient industries were held to — the rule of law at the very least — then far fewer fraudulent banks would ever come about. There were market institutions that would penalize those banks that over-issued currencies, brought about bank runs, and financial crises. As Mises would later write:
What is needed to prevent further credit expansion is to place the banking business under the general rules of commercial and civil laws compelling each individual and firm to fulfill all obligations in full compliance with the terms of contract.
The bill was passed fairly easily, in part because the Democrats had a larger majority in both Houses than they do today. There were significant differences that were resolved in conference, with one compromise resulting in the requirement that only 40 percent of the gold reserve back the new currency. So instead of a 1-to-1 relationship between gold and currency issued — a ratio that defined sound market banking since the time of Renaissance Italy — the new Federal Reserve notes would be inflated, by law, at a ratio of 1-to-2.5.
The bill that was first drawn up at Jekyll Island was signed by Woodrow Wilson in the Oval Office shortly after the Senate approved it. At one point during the signing ceremony, as he reached for a gold pen to finish signing the bill, he jokingly declared “I’m drawing on the gold reserve.”
Truer words were never spoken.
Central banks always result in feeding those forces that centralize and expand the nation-state. The Fed’s policies in the 1920s, so well documented by Rothbard, would provoke the Great Depression, which, in the end, wrenched political power from cities and state governments to the swampland in Washington. Today people take seriously the claim that there can be a viable federal solution to every problem thanks to the money printed up by the Fed, while each decade has seen a larger proportion of the population become dependent on its inflation.
And yet Andrew Jackson’s beliefs about the perniciousness of the Second Bank of the United States are just as applicable to the Federal Reserve today.
Here’s to hoping we’ll see Jackson’s hawkish nose and unkempt hair on a gold-backed, privately issued currency in the not–too-distant future.

It’s A Wonderful Life Report Censored – Again

Infowars.com
December 26, 2013

YouTube continues to remove our review of It’s A Wonderful Life by hand while the full version of the film remains on its site

UPDATE 2: In an act of political suppression, the latest mirror of our powerful report on It’s A Wonderful Life has been taken down by Youtube and the video sharing site is systematically removing uploads of our report by hand. This is all the more evident considering that the full version of It’s A Wonderful Life has been available on YouTube for almost two years. If automated “bots” were taking down our report due to bogus copyright claims, they would have removed the full version long ago under a more legitimate claim.
This is purposeful censorship of our report.
Our video report is being suppressed because the banks do not want people to realize that the movie exposes real, modern-day bankster behavior.
The central banks would rather maintain the illusion that prosperity only comes from centralized planning by a tiny elite and worthless paper money forced upon the population.
This is unprecedented censorship and a gross attack on the First Amendment. The central banks want you to stay asleep and believe that it is a wonderful life under their cartel while they strip mine countries across the planet.
We will definitely air the report again on the Friday edition of the Alex Jones Show.
See below for a new mirrored version. We are leaving the old version that has been censored lower down on this page for documentation.

UPDATE: Our Infowars Nightly News free-speech protected analysis of the film It’s A Wonderful Life was taken down by YouTube after only 24 hours. Infowars follows a high standard of copyright recognition developed through many consultations with various lawyers. The censorship of our review is a gross misappropriation of copyright law, which allows companies outside of court to claim copyright infringement on something that clearly isn’t a violation. Our review was clearly a political analysis showing short clips of It’s A Wonderful Life and tying them into current bankster behavior operating through the Federal Reserve, the IMF and the World Bank.

This is a great example of how CSIPA and SOPA would legalize this misappropriation of copyright enforcement that these companies are currently engaging in.
Videos on Youtube are being taken down completely because of mere accusations that they violate copyrights, regardless if the copyright claim is completely unfounded and bogus.
This was a pure political move meant to censor our powerful report exposing the truth on the fractional-reserve, fiat banking system. The full version of It’s A Wonderful Life has been available on YouTube since Feb. 2012 and has over 700,000 views, but YouTube has not taken it down. That’s because the real agenda is not copyright enforcement but rather it’s about censoring the truth and protecting the global cartels within the state-corporate nexus.
We aired our review on the Dec. 24 edition of Alex Jones Show and on the Infowars Nightly News and it is clearly covered by fair use because it analyzes a cultural phenomenon and its historical roots. It’s a wonderful life – for the banksters that brought our country under so much tyranny that could never exist under a system of sound money.
Because our film review is so effective, they took it down.

Mr. Henry F. Potter, the president of the Building and Loan Association in the 1946 film It’s a Wonderful Life, has very striking similarities to the modern day banksters working through the Federal Reserve to sap the nation’s wealth.
As we look back over the past hundred years, America has experienced the Great Depression, multiple recessions, stagflation and the loss of 99% of the dollarʼs purchasing power – none of it wouldʼve been possible without the Federal Reserve, creating bubbles and bursting them, enslaving us with debt and destroying our purchasing power and our ability to save through inflation.
Yes, itʼs been a wonderful lie — for the banksters.
And many Americans are left like George Bailey. Facing the collapse of their dreams and financial ruin.
There are striking parallels in Frank Capraʼs Itʼs a Wonderful Life to lies and tricks of the modern banker elite. Human nature doesnʼt change and the greedy elite of 1913 and 2013 look much like Potter.
Please spread the message and make this film go viral.

Albert Einstein: “A Foolish Faith In Authority Is The Worst Enemy Of The Truth”

Washington’s Blog
December 26, 2013

Albert Einstein said:
A foolish faith in authority is the worst enemy of the truth.

Image: Albert Einstein (Wikimedia Commons).
Indeed, scientists have shown that people will go to absurd lengths - and engage in mental gymnastics – in order to cling to their belief in what those in authority have said.
Part of the reason so many are so vulnerable to naive belief in authority is that we evolved in small tribes … and we assume that the super-elites are just like us.
In reality, there are millions of psychopaths in the world … and they are largely running D.C. and on Wall Street.
These people have no hesitation in lying to promote their goals.
The Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs told Morley Safer of 60 Minutes and CBS News:
Look, if you think any American official is going to tell you the truth, then you’re stupid. Did you hear that? — stupid.
And studies show that the super-rich lie, cheat and steal more than the rest of us.
Who’s to Blame … Big Government or Big Business?
Conservatives tend to believe that the captains of industry are virtuous and that the government can’t be trusted.
Liberals tend to believe that government servants are virtuous and that corporations can’t be trusted.
But the truth is that psychopaths are psychopaths … whether they’re in the private sector or government.
And there is no such thing as representative government or free market capitalism anymore. Big corporate money has coopted the government; and ill-guided politicians have destroyed the free market.
Corrupt government agencies and officials and corrupt corporations and executives have become intertwined in a malignantsymbiotic relationship.
And they’re trying to grab more and more power and wealth every day.
Big Business Has Turned Into a Criminal Syndicate
Big banks and giant oil companies have more or less become criminal enterprises.
And conservatives are not amused.
Government Has Gone Rogue
If the government were accountable, then government corruption, deceit and wrongdoing would be held to a modest level.
But the government is not accountable.
When bad government policy leads to bad results, the government manipulates the data … instead of changing policy.
Government pumps out massive amounts of propaganda through the mainstream and “gatekeeper” alternative mediamoviesvideo games, and other venues.
The government has launched a war on journalism, and censors and manipulates social media. And see this.
The massive NSA is spying on all of us – including government officials, reporters, and everyone else – as a way to crush dissent.
And people who criticize government policy or government officials may literally be labeled terrorists.
No wonder the American public has lost faith in the 2 party system. And see this.
People of faith shouldn’t be fooled into blindly deferring to government authority.

New Bomber Can Nuke US Military Bases, Brags Chinese State Media

Paul Joseph Watson
December 26, 2013

Chinese state media is once again bragging about Beijing’s military prowess, touting the fact that China’s new H-6K strategic bomber can attack U.S. military bases in South Korea as well as the Japanese mainland using long range nuclear cruise missiles.
Image: H-6K strategic bomber (YouTube).
The report features on the prominent pro-Communist Party news website Want China Times.
“With a range of between 1,500 and 2,000 kilometers, the CJ-10 meets the requirements of the PLA Air Force to possess the capability to launch strategic missile attacks against US military facilities and those of its allies in the Western Pacific,” states the report.
The article also lauds the fact that the H-6K can target the Japanese mainland without even leaving Chinese airspace, in addition to Russian cities in the far east, all major cities in India, as well as Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines, “in a potential war against Southeast Asian neighbors over territories in the South China Sea.”
“An H-6K taking off from the air base of the PLA’s 10th air division in Anqing, Anhui province, would be able to strike at all US military bases in South Korea,” states the report, noting that “the long-range cruise missile has become a crucial part of China’s nuclear arsenal.”
This is just the latest example of aggressive and bellicose rhetoric emerging out of China.
Earlier this month, a PLA military website bragged that China’s first aircraft carrier combat task force was close to rivaling the U.S. Navy.
In November, Chinese state-run media released a map showing the locations of major U.S. cities and how they would be impacted by a nuclear attack launched from the PLA’s strategic submarine force.
China’s moon landing program was also used as a reminder of Beijing’s growing offensive capabilities, with one state media report even discussing plans to turn the moon into a Star Wars-style “death star” from which the PLA could launch missiles against any target on Earth.
A display to promote China’s Jade Rabbit Moon rover also included a background photograph of a mushroom cloud over Europe, a startling detail which some have interpreted as an indication that Beijing’s space program is a cover for the militarization of space.
China is currently embroiled in a territorial dispute with Japan over the Senkaku Islands, tensions that were heightened earlier today when Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited a shrine seen by critics as a symbol of Tokyo’s wartime aggression.

Thyroid Cancers Surge Among Fukushima Youths

Zero Hedge
December 24, 2013

It seems US sailors aren’t the only ones who three short years after the Fukushima disaster are being stricken by cancers and other radiation-induced diseases.
A radioactive hotspot detected in Kashiwa city was found to be linked to Fukushima.
A radioactive hotspot detected in Kashiwa city was found to be linked to Fukushima.
For once, the media blackout surrounding the Japanese nuclear power plant tragedy appears to have crumbled, and at least a portion of the truth has been revealed. Hong Kong’s SCMP reports that fifty-nine young people in Fukushima prefecture have been diagnosed with or are suspected of having thyroid cancer. Notably, all of newly diagnosed were younger than 18 at the time of the nuclear meltdown in the area in March 2011. They were identified in tests by the prefectural government, which covered 239,000 people by the end of September.
And while it is not rocket surgery to put two and two together, now that the data is in the public domain, here come the experts to explain it away.
On one hand, there are those who seemingly have not been bribed by the Abe government to “bend” reality just a bit in the name of confidence. People such as Toshihide Tsuda, a professor of epidemiology at Okayama University who has called upon the government to prepare for a possible increase in cases in the future. “The rate at which children in Fukushima prefecture have developed thyroid cancer can be called frequent, because it is several times to several tens of times higher,” Japan’s Asahi Shimbun quoted him as saying.
He compared the figures in Fukushima with cancer registration statistics throughout Japan from 1975 to 2008 that showed an annual average of five to 11 people in their late teens to early 20s developing cancer for every 1 million people.
And then come those who probably would still be touting the great job Tepco is doing in containing the worst nuclear catastrophe in history, even though Tepco itself has now admitted the exploded nuclear power plant is out of control.
Tetsuya Ohira, a professor of epidemiology at Fukushima Medical University, disagreed. It was not scientific to compare the Fukushima tests with cancer registry statistics, he argued. Scientific? Or not politically feasible for a prime minister who is desperate to restart domestic nuclear power plants, since Abenomics is getting monkeyhammered thanks to soaring energy and food import costs (and, among other factors, leading to a crash in Abe’s popularity rating), and any reality leaking, pardong the pun, from Fukushima will end both that ambition, and his political career prematurely.
Shockingly, a month ago, prefectural officials deemed it unlikely that the increase in suspected and confirmed cases of cancer was linked to radiation exposure. Their “logic” is that in the Chernobyl disaster of 1986, it was not until four or five years after the accident that thyroid cancer cases surged. Apparently the thought that the local cancer victims may have been subject to radiation orders of magnitude higher than Chernobyl thanks to a lying government which consistently repeated that “all is well” has not crossed anyone’s mind.
“It is known that radioactive iodine is linked to thyroid cancer. Through the intake of food, people may absorb and accumulate it inside glands,” said Dr Choi Kin, a former president of the Hong Kong Medical Association.
Children might absorb more of it than adults because they were still growing, he said, but it remained to be proven that the radioactive iodine came from the nuclear disaster instead of the normal environment.
Bottom line “experts” are divided about whether the Fukushima cancers are caused by nuclear radiation… which, perhaps, is why they are experts. As everyone else knows, a surge in thyroid cancer in a population in close proximity to an exploded power plant, can only be due to one thing: non-participation in the ponzi stock market. So start buying stocks, or else the p53 mutations are coming for you too!

Push of a Button: This Is How Fast They Can Lock Down the Entire Banking System

Mac Slavo
December 24, 2013

Late last week it was learned that some 40 million charge cards were obtained using physical processing systems located in Target retail locations nationwide.
Shoppers found that their credit limit was restricted while shopping at Target. Credit: zooboing via Flickr
Shoppers found that their credit limit was restricted while shopping at Target. Credit: zooboing via Flickr
Though no details of the how the hack attack was executed have been released by Target, the FBI or other agencies investigating the breach, it is likely that the processing machines themselves were compromised. Target claims that the hack was sophisticated, but on the technical side, once hackers found a way into the credit card processing machines, probably via remote entry from servers somewhere in Eastern Europe or Russia, the theft of credit card data itself would have been fairly straight forward by using scripts or applications that simply capture the data and send it off to servers owned by the hackers.
This was probably one of the largest credit card thefts in history, though it is not at all surprising. Two years ago we noted that cyber attacks would soon be targeting America’s e-commerce systems and just a few months ago it was noted that rogue terrorist groups were specifically working on sabotage operation to bring down the U.S. economy. While this latest attack on Target stores and their customers fell far short of crashing our economy or financial system, it proves, as did recent breaches of Pentagon military networks, that even the most highly secured systems in the world can be compromised.
Furthermore, what this attack highlights is that with the right type of “event” the economy and financial system of the United States can be shut down… almost instantly.
If you are a JP Morgan Chase banking customer and happened to use your debit card at Target stores between November 27th and December 15th, then you got a first-hand taste of what a shutdown of the banking system might feel like and how fast in can happen.
It was done with the push of a button and impacted some two million holiday shoppers:
JPMorgan Chase has notified card holders impacted by the Target breach that their cards will be restricted to $100 ATM cash withdrawals and $300 card purchases until replacement cards can be issued. The new limits impact nearly 2 million debit card accounts, but not credit card holders.
Chase bank made no announcement to their customers of the coming restrictions just days before Christmas. They simply obtained a list of the potentially compromised cards, uploaded them into their system, and with the flick of a finger shut down electronic access to customers’ funds. Whether Chase’s actions were a bad business move is not necessarily at issue, though it was probably quite inconvenient for those affected.
What is at issue is what many in alternative media have been warning about for some time – that the entire financial system of the United States can be shut down within a matter of minutes should the right set of events be realized.
Most Americans don’t believe it can happen. Likewise, most people didn’t think that American domestic security agencies could shut down our borders and put transportation across the country on lock-down within a few hours – until it happened on September 11, 2001.
Former national security coordinator Richard Clarke has warned that America’s cyber infrastructure is so fragile that it could literally be brought down by a coordinated cyber attack in a matter of 15 minutes. It sounds absurd to suggest that our country could potentially be crippled that quickly, until you realize that China, Russia, and Iran have long been mapping our entire utility, commerce and communications grids, all of which would be the first targets in any large-scale confrontation.
Because cyber space is now considered a national asset, the President of the United States has the authority to completely shut down the internet (and all of the components attached to it) with what experts call a “kill switch.” If this executive action is ever implemented the President would need very little justification to shut it all down – the financial system, commerce systems, and all personal web surfing – for a period of up to four months, and then indefinitely if he can provide a justifiable reason to Congress.
We live in a world that is, for those paying attention, completely out of our control. Our entire way of life could change overnight for any number of reasons.
A war with a foreign power, a rogue terrorist attack, or a false flag event could all be a trigger event for something so debilitating that it would cause pandemonium from coast to coast.
Former Department of Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano recently said that a massive and serious attack on the homeland is imminent. It makes no difference why it happens. Only that it does.

Online Black Market Admin: Feds Stole $33.6 in Bitcoins

Kurt Nimmo
December 23, 2013

More than peer-to-peer networking, the government hates the idea of hidden and anonymous internet services, and more so, loathes the prospect of an online black market where taxes cannot be coerced at gunpoint.

Ross Ulbricht Claims Government Stole Millions of Dollars Worth of Bitcoin - http://bit.ly/1a3sF9W

It’s obvious the feds shut down Silk Road and threw its progenitor, Ross Ulbricht, into solitary confinement in order to send a message to other “pirates” who refuse to play by government and corporate rules.
But the government’s not finished. Add insult to injury. It has stolen $33.6 million from Ulbricht, according to papers filed in a federal court in Manhattan.

Wal-Mart “Robo-Doctor” Kiosk Promotes Obamacare (boycott wal-mart)

Thousands of self-service “robo-doctor” kiosks are currently being installed inside Wal-Marts across America which collect personal information and promote Obamacare through a health screening loaded with advertisements.
The SoloHealth Station asks users personal health questions and for their contact information which is then forwarded to a local Obamacare navigator.
Users are prompted for their date of birth, the number of vegetables they eat in a day and to describe how often their families use social media, amongst other things.
During the health screening, the machine displays advertisements targeted at the user based on the answers provided.
“Users enter their age, gender and ethnicity and during the screening process they are asked a series of lifestyle and behavioral questions,” a SoloHealth video for advertisers states. “This approach allows hyper-targeting of your messages [advertisements.]”
Some of the advertisements are for over-the-counter medications such as Prilosec and Zyrtec and the kiosk will likely push even more medications in the future.
“It is clear there are now many interactive mechanisms that can step the consumer through the process of self-diagnosis and medication selection,” said Janet Woodcock, director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at a public hearing in 2012.
After the screening, users can then search for a primary care doctor by their zip code.
Interestingly, when Infowars Nightly News host Jakari Jackson searched for a doctor using heavily-populated zip codes, no doctors were found.
These machines appear to be more effective at getting people enrolled in Obamacare than they are at actually helping people find doctors.
They also have potential privacy risks, according to Consumers Union Senior Attorney Mark Savage.
“You have a situation where a patient is voluntarily disclosing information, which means there is no privacy protection, generally,” he said to bioethics.net.  ”They may not know if the information is being kept and might be used weeks or years after.”
Solohealth’s Chief Commercial Officer Stephen Kendig even stated that the company is not bound to the privacy provisions under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.
The contact information collected from these machines could be used by navigators to enroll as many Americans into Obamacare as possible.
As we previously reported, navigators in several states are practically taxpayer-subsidized salespeople who are paid based on their enrollment numbers.
Obamacare has already caused a mass exodus of doctors and other providers from the healthcare industry. It now appears that they are being replaced by these self-service machines, like the probation officer who dispenses SSRIs in the film Elysium:

New armored tank for town police sparks fear, war of words

Joe Saunders
December 23, 2013

A war of words has broken out over police force in California getting a new armored vehicle built more for a state of war than patrolling in the Golden State.
The Salinas Police Department recently issued a news release proudly announcing the arrival of the armored truck built to survive minefield explosions, which it got compliments of federal taxpayers as part of a program to convert military equipment to law-enforcement use.

Critics took to the police department’s Facebook page to ask exactly why a city of 150,000 on the northern California coast really needs a vehicle designed for battlefield use. It’s more likely to be used against its own citizens, they said..
“That vehicle is made for war. Do not use my safety to justify that vehicle,” one wrote. “The Salinas Police Department is just a bunch of cowards that want to use that vehicle as intimidation and to terrorize the citizens of this city.”
‘To stop gang members?” another wrote. “Hmmm gang members don’t riot in mass numbers. It’s right in front of our faces and we don’t see it. Why would the ARMY!!! give something like that for FREE!!! Let’s think for once people.”
Police Chief Kelly McMillin said he doesn’t understand the problem.
“I knew this was going to come up,” he said in an interview with the Salinas Californian. “It’s the militarization-of-the-police issue. People are like, ‘Why do you need this?’”
He said it’s not what the department has, it’s what it does that’s the point.
“An allegation that we are militarizing has to be that we were patrolling the streets in platoons in greater numbers, that we were setting up checkpoints and searching people in and out of neighborhoods,” he told the interviewer.
The Salinas PD isn’t doing any of that, he said.
Maybe not. And maybe it never will under Kelly McMillin. But that’s not the point, and it’s hard to believe McMillin and the reporter from the Salinas Californian don’t know that.
This country only two months ago saw rangers for the National Park Service – National Park rangers – turn into a bunch of storm troopers keeping World War II vets out of their own monument, and visitors from “recreating” at Yosemite.
And Chief McMillin doesn’t understand why citizens don’t trust the government with ever-greater weaponry in the hands of a “civilian” police force?
Just ask the commenters on the Salinas Californian article.
“It could be used to deliver a whole bunch of shut the hell up to the citizens of this fair town,” one wrote.
