More than peer-to-peer networking, the government hates the idea of
hidden and anonymous internet services, and more so, loathes the
prospect of an online black market where taxes cannot be coerced at
gunpoint.

It’s obvious the feds shut down Silk Road and threw its progenitor, Ross Ulbricht, into solitary confinement in order to send a message to other “pirates” who refuse to play by government and corporate rules.
But the government’s not finished. Add insult to injury. It has stolen $33.6 million from Ulbricht, according to papers filed in a federal court in Manhattan.
