Common sense will tell anyone that if you're asleep and your door is kicked open in the middle of the night your first response is to defend you family, home and self against the intruders. If a warrant is issued law enforcement officials should announce themselves. By not doing so they are placing the lives of innocent people in danger.
Example: A No-Knock Warrant is issued in a home where an elderly person resides with his grandson. Suppose the grandson is harboring drugs. Yes, legal action should be taken. However, if the swat teams arrives in the middle of the night and kicks open the door, the grandson might react and begin shooting, causing the swat team to shoot back in return. The elderly man is caught in the middle.
This example is one of thousands that can be offered.
Anyone asleep that is awoken to intruders rushing into their home will react in a natural way: Defend and Protect. Regardless if it is a swat team kicking in your door, what matters is the response of the people waking up from a sound sleep.
No one wakes up from a sound sleep thinking: Oh, that's just the swat team kicking in our door, dear, go back to sleep, everything is okay.
A No-Knock warrant is very dangerous and places the lives of innocent people in danger. Once a person in the home takes action so does the swat team. When this occurs it's no longer about legal action--it's about self survival. Bullets will be fired and someone will either die or be hurt because some ignorant judge didn't have enough foresight to see the obvious.
