Torah Study

Psalms Ch 119: 89 (Lamed) Your word continues forever, ADONAI, firmly fixed in heaven;

What ‘Word’ is King David speaking of? The words of the Prophets had yet to be spoken—they came after King David. King David himself is speaking about the ‘Word’ of G-D in his Psalms. So what was the only ‘Word of G-D’ King David read, studied, loved, obeyed and followed? The answer: The writings of Moshe—The Law/Torah.

Isaiah speaks the same:

Isaiah Ch 40:Isaiah Ch 40:8 “The grass dries up, the flower fades; but the word of our God will stand forever.”

Now, let’s conduct a quick investigation.

I see people post verses from the Book of Psalms all the time. What I don’t see Christians posting from the Book are verse about the Law/Torah

Psalms Ch 1:2 Their delight is in ADONAI's Torah; on his Torah they meditate day and night.

Psalms begins with the very words about the Law/Torah. Psalms Ch 119 is a love letter to the Torah/Law.

The same applies to the Book of Proverbs. I see people post verses from the Book of Proverbs bit no verses about the law.

Proverbs Ch 28:9 If a person will not listen to Torah, even his prayer is an abomination.

Why is this?

What about Isaiah Ch 2

Isaiah Ch 2:3 Many peoples will go and say, "Come, let's go up to the mountain of ADONAI, to the house of the God of Ya'akov! He will teach us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths." For out of Tziyon will go forth Torah, the word of ADONAI from Yerushalayim.

Isaiah is speaking of YESHUA/JESUS’ Millennial reign in verse 3.

Isaiah Ch 2:4 He will judge between the nations and arbitrate for many peoples. Then they will hammer their swords into plow-blades and their spears into pruning-knives; nations will not raise swords at each other, and they will no longer learn war.

We are taught—and promised—that during YESHUA/JESUS’ Millennial reign that the Law/Torah will go out of Tziyon—the ‘WORD’ of ADONAI from Yerushalayim. So we can clearly see the ‘WORD’ of G-D is HIS Law/Torah.

2 Timothy Ch 3:15 and recalling too how from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which can give you the wisdom that leads to deliverance through trusting in Yeshua the Messiah.

What Holy Scriptures is Paul telling Timothy had has known since childhood? Holy Scriptures that “give you the wisdom that leads to deliverance through trusting in Yeshua the Messiah.” The New Testament had not been fully written and completed yet. Paul wasn’t talking about the New Testament. So what then? The answer: The Torah/Law, Prophets and Writings. Keep this is mind when you read 2 Timothy Ch 3:16

2 Timothy Ch 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living;

“All Scripture’ is G-D Breathed. What Scripture is Paul referring to? Again, the New Testament had not been completed yet. Paul was talking about the Torah/Law, Prophets and Writings. And we lean from the Writings and Prophets the ‘Word of G-D’ is the Law/Torah. And ‘All Scripture’ is valuable for what? Teaching the Truth! Convicting of Sin (and remember what sin is violation of the Law/Torah—1 John Ch 3:4). Correcting faults and training in right living! Without the Torah/Law you cannot have any of these beautiful gifts.

2 Timothy Ch 2:“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

What ‘WORD of Truth’ is Paul referring to? Remember, the New Testament had not been completed yet. What did Paul tell Timothy in Ch 3:16? All Scripture is what? Valuable for teaching the ‘Truth’. So what is the ‘WORD of Truth’. The Torah/Law..

Psalms Ch 119:160 The main thing about your word is that it's true; and all your just rulings last forever.

In Psalms Ch 119 verse 160 King David tells is what the WORD of Truth is: The Torah/Law.

Psalms Ch 119:97 How I love your Torah! I meditate on it all day.

We’ll continue the study of the Torah/Law each day with Powerful Truths ordained and created by G-D alone and not man.

Shalom and blessings.
