When does Ezekiel Ch 38 and 39 take place?
There are many factors and considerations we need to explore. Let's begin.
What is the:
The spiritual condition of Israel
The military state of Israel
The political state of Israel
The moral state of Israel
Before we answer these questions let's look at Ezekiel Ch 38: 18 When that day comes, when Gog invades the land of Isra'el,' says Adonai ELOHIM, 'my furious anger will boil up.
Pay close attention to this verse as we answer the above questions
What is the spiritual condition of Israel? Is Israel currently spiritually righteous or spiritually wicked? The following answers to the rest of the questions will answer that question.
What is the moral state of Israel? Does Israel allow the murder of unborn babies (abortion), gay parades through Jerusalem (which is an abomination to ADONAI), leftist politicians who demand gays are allowed to be married, transgenders? Does the government of Israel care of the Religious Jews or the Jews in general (think about the Jews who were expelled from Gaza in 2005). Does Israel turn to G-D or go whoring with the nations?
What is the military state of Israel? Religious or secular?
What is the political state of Israel? Religious or secular?
So we can see that Israel's spiritual condition is one of wickedness and rebellion. Why would G-D, at the current time, let HIS furious anger boil up over Israel while she is in a state of spiritual wickedness? It's not so. Israel must endure a state of chastisement. WE read in Zechariah that Jerusalem will be divided. This is because of Israel's sin. Then YESHUA will return and save Israel when they repent. How does Ezekiel Ch 38 take place if Jerusalem is divided?
Next we have to look at the land of Israel.
Israel is divided into certain parts. The land of Israel and then Judea and Samaria (which the enemy calls the west bank) and the Gaza strip.
Let's look at Ezekiel Ch 38:16 and you will invade my people Isra'el like a cloud covering the land. This will be in the acharit-hayamim; and I will bring you against my land, so that the Goyim will know me when, before their eyes, I am set apart as holy through you, Gog.'
We see from this verse that the Gog will cover the land of Israel like a cloud. If Israel is still set apart in portions then why would the enemy cover the 'Land' like a cloud? Only certain parts of the land would be attacked. The land of Israel has to be wholly united before the attack and living in peace.
Ezekiel Ch 38: 14 "Therefore, human being, prophesy! Tell Gog that Adonai ELOHIM says this: 'Won't you be aware of it when my people Isra'el are living in security?
15 You will choose just that time to come from your place in the far reaches of the north, you and many peoples with you, all of them on horseback, a huge horde, a mighty army;
We see from verse 15 that Gog will choose the time when Israel is living in security before attacking.
Israel is not living securely in the land and never will until YESHUA returns (Revelation Ch 19). The world is constantly after Israel to agree to a two state solution. Israel must be in control of all of her land before the attack happens. The world would erupt in chaos if Israel tried to get rid of the muslims within her borders. Only YESHUA will.
Next we look at the geopolitical position.
The UN is constantly condemning Israel. Over 1200 Jews were murdered and the UN had yet to condemn hammas but condemns Israel instead. Israel is whoring with the nations and is constantly going against her own people to please the UN. Think about the 2005 Gaza expulsion for example. Think of all the protest against Israel that's happening right now. Think about all of her enemies that want to see her destroyed (Remember YESHUA'S Words in Luke 21:20). How is Israel ever going to live in security when the UN won't even condemn hammas for murdering 1200 Jews? Israel will only be living in peace after YESHUA returns and judges the nations.
Now we have to look at Ezekiel Ch 38: 12 I will seize the spoil and take the plunder." You will attack the former ruins that are now inhabited and come against the people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and other wealth and are living in the central parts of the land.
Here we learn that the Jews will also be living in the central parts of the land. Currently the so-called west bank occupies a good portion of the central part of Israel.
Because I can't make this article too long I'll move on to Ch 39.
We'll look at Ezekiel Ch 39:12 It will take the house of Isra'el seven months to bury them, in order to cleanse the land.
Here we learn that it will take Israel seven months to bury her dead enemies in order to cleanse the 'Land'. Not just parts of the land but all the land. That includes what is currently called the so-called west bank and the gaza strip.
Ezekiel Ch 39:11 "'When that day comes, I will give Gog a place there in Isra'el for graves, the Travelers' Valley, east of the sea; and it will block the travelers' passage. There they will bury Gog and all his horde, and they will rename it the Valley of Hamon-Gog [horde of Gog].
There is debate on where the Travelers Valley is or isn't but it seems to be near the Dead Sea region in the area currently occupied by Jordan. If this is so, how could Israel bury her dead enemies there? It does seem to me that her enemies must be buried out of the Land and not in. So the thought that the Travelers Valley is outside of Israel, across the Jordan, somewhere near the Dead Sea region does hold value.
Ezekiel Ch 39:13 Yes, all the people of the land will be burying them; they will become famous for it. It will be a day for me to be glorified,' says Adonai ELOHIM.
"All' the people of the land will be burying the dead--'All' not some. All Jews. Not some. How could this be so if the attack occurs before the end of YESHUA's Millennial Kingdom? The IDF has to be on duty as well as border police, regular police, schools open, etc... If all the Jews are burying the dead then wouldn't her enemies living in the land (the muslims in the so-called west bank and gaza strip) attack if the Jews are busy burying the dead instead of defending themselves? This is why no muslims will be in the land. The Jews will be at perfect peace and security.
Ezekiel Ch 39: 9 "'Those living in Isra'el's cities will go out and set fire to the weapons, to use as fuel - the shields, breastplates, bows, arrows, clubs and spears; they will use them for fire seven years;
Why would Israel need to burn weapons for fuel when she has fuel now if the fuel refers to gas, which doesn't seem to be the case. In this case the fuel seems to be referring to a source of heat. Again, why would Israel need to do this if she has sources for heat and electricity to supply heat right now? Wouldn't Israel put the IDF in charge of getting ready of the weapons--but those living in the cities will go out and set fire to the weapons, not the IDF. For seven years. Seven represents a Sh'mitah cycle and I believe the seven years mentioned may be the last Sh'mitah cycle on earth before YESHUA takes all HIS people off the earth after HIS Millennial Kingdom comes to an end and then war of Gog is over and the seven years come to an end.
There is so much more but I know long articles are not read.
By now I believe you get the point I'm trying to make. The condition of Israel (spiritually) is ripe for punishment not protection. Only when YESHUA returns will Israel repent and become a holy nation.
Last I want to point out something very vital:
Revelation Ch 20: 7 When the thousand years are over, the Adversary will be set free from his prison
8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for the battle. Their number is countless as the sand on the seashore;
9 and they came up over the breadth of the Land and surrounded the camp of God's people and the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and consumed them.
It will be the adversary that is behind the attack after deceiving the nations.
But there is great news!
Revelation Ch 20:10 The Adversary who had deceived them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet were; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
This is the end of the battle.
The attack in Ezekiel Ch 38 will take place but not until the appointed time and that time is after the thousand years of YESHUA's Millennial Kingdom come to a close.
Before YESHUA's Millennial Kingdom Israel will suffer G-D's Judgements for her sins. But remember that G-D will also be judging the world, too.
Before we attach a Bible Prophecy to a time frame we have to look very carefully at Israel and how the world is at the time.
No nations are capable of carrying out the Ezekiel Ch 38 attack right now. Russia is at war with Ukraine. Europe is not able. Iran can't defeat Israel alone. China wouldn't attack Israel militarily. Who has the military capability to carry out the attack as a group right now as united allies? Also, ask yourself this: Israel's Military Intelligence would quickly notice nations gathering themselves in such a large military operation. Her allies would have to protect her. This isn't the case. The time isn't now.
It's important to let the HOLY SPIRIT present questions that must be answered before believing a prophecy can take place in our current times--and many will, such as Jerusalem being divided. But we have to be patient, wise and cautious in how we proceed and never jump to conclusions.
