Detroit citizens have to protect themselves now that police funding is nearly nonexistent

If you call 911, what happens? First, you have to speak to a dispatcher and explain what is taking place, and then the dispatcher has to dispatch the proper personnel, whether law or medical, to your location. Now, let's assume your emergency is because someone is breaking into your home. Where do you live? How long will it take the police to get to your home? By the time you call 911and give all the information, what happens? The intruder isn't going to stop and say, 'Go right ahead, I'll wait'. An intruder knows they have a certain time limit and work on the element of surprise, fear and brute force; and there is no telling what type of intruder is trying to break into your home. Is this intruder on drugs, drunk, a murderer, or just a common thief? My point is, you have the responsibility to protect your home and you cannot rely on 911. It's not only Detroit, it's all of america.
